Out-of-State Families

Can we still be part of our teen’s treatment?

Yes, fully. This is the question behind most of the others, so here is the plain answer: family therapy is available entirely by phone or video, and there is no in-person minimum. You can take part in your teen’s therapy from home, wherever home is. Family involvement is part of the program, not an add-on. Sessions are scheduled around each family’s availability rather than on a fixed day, which matters even more when you are coordinating around a drive or a work week. If you are able to travel, visitation is on weekends, but you do not have to travel to stay part of the work.

Do you accept teens from outside Georgia?

Yes. Being out of state does not affect your teen’s eligibility. What we assess is clinical fit: ages 13 to 18, a substance use disorder with or without a co-occurring mental health condition, and a teen who is a fit for a residential setting rather than detox or acute psychiatric care. Families come to us from Georgia and the surrounding states, and the program is the same for every one of them.

Insurance across state lines

We accept private insurance and private pay. A private plan from another state can often still be used, though it is more likely to be out of network. Our admissions team verifies your specific benefits before you commit to anything, and tells you what out of network means for your family in real numbers. We do not accept Medicaid, TRICARE, or other government-funded plans, and an out-of-state Medicaid plan cannot be used here. We would rather you know that on the first call than after a long drive.

Our families come from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Florida. Our campus and our program are the same wherever a family travels from.
